<description>Bottom line, NBA2K11’s AI is totally broken in MyPlayer Mode! Although, I can’t imagine the issues in MyPlayer Mode don’t exists in other game modes.

As a programmer, graphic artists, web developer and game developer, I can truly say NBA2K11’s AI is just bad logic. Notice the key word there, “Logic.” Yes, bad AI logic is the reason the game’s AI is broken. As a developer, let me bring some things to light for those of you with small minds who will obvious criticize my words with ignorance…..

2K11 has player ratings right? It also has game level and AI sliders that can be adjusted. All of you have noticed (if you truly played the game) how players perform differently when adjusting the game level and AI sliders, right?

Well guess what? You just defeated the purpose of even having individual player ratings, 2K. Get a clue! What good is having a player with a 99% shot rating on every shot, who takes good look shots, only hit 20% of their shots because the game level was jacked up and the CPU’s AI sliders where jacked up? In other words, the game cheats the player in order to make the game appear harder.

That’s a false illusion of competition. Every sports game is based on the same BS logic, even John Madden Football. You can’t walk up to D. Rose and say, “Hey Rose, will you drop down to Pro mode so that rookie guarding you can have a chance?“ or “Hey Rose, lower your AI sliders 40 percent, will ya?”

IT IS NOT ROCKET SIENCE DEVELOPERS!!!!

The same thing it takes to win in real life are the same things AI should be based on! Theoretically, there shouldn’t even be a game level change or AI sliders for that matter. Player Ratings should be everything!

That is, every player should be their own individual AI, which will collide with all other players’ AI. The same way Talent and Intelligence collide in real life. Things should play out the way they’re going to play out; the way it is in real life.

There is no reason for a gamer playing MyPlayer Mode to finish a game with 3 assists out of 50 perfect assist passes. If NBA players were that sorry in real life, they wouldn’t even be in the NBA. Yeah… Get a clue! Player’s stealing balls with their backs turned…. I’m not even going to get into it; and I play the game well. I can kill the CPU anytime on any level, even with the cheating.

As a developer, I pride myself on my work. Games like NBA2K11 are reminders to me, that poor AI logic doesn’t cut it. I am current developing what will be the greatest City Sim/War simulator every (for the PC platform). I realize, when gamers play my games, the quality of that game will reflect back on my talents. I am talent loaded and wish for buyers of my titles to realize that.

Such a realization can never happen if I’m going to code poor game AI logic or bad game design all together. You can’t feed people your crap and expect them to love you for it, that’s the honest God truth! As long as foolish people keep posting up good replies about a game that does not deserve it, the fixes for that game will never be made, because the Company that made it know they can keep feeding you their same old crap, and you’ll keep spending money on it like a good obedient idiot.

A lot of people that post good replies about games that do not deserve them are usually in connection with that game/company/employees, a lot. You never know who’s behind the PC on the internet and have to keep that in mind. I actually had a game developer that worked for a large company send me constant BS emails because I made some true statements about a poorly designed game, which opened the eyes of people who were looking to waste money on it.

That’s one thing Developers do not like…. Another Developer who has the knowledge of game development (and even more talented and brightness) highlight the issues and BS with their game. I honestly feel the perfect AI sports game will never be made unless my company makes it. Unfortunately, sports are not on the table now for my company, but will surface in the future. Until then, you have to keep playing broken games like NBA2K11 and John Madden Football.

I give these sports making companies a 10 out of 10 for the visuals. Good artists in a company can good a long way (and sell that game!). The problem is, most true gamers that want a quality experience will not care about visual. Game Flow, Game Balance and Logic are everything when it comes to game development. Graphics can wait. If the technical issues aren’t taken care of, you have no game; no matter what it looks like.

Even now, as I develop a simulator title for my company, Graphics are last on the table. It’s all about the code right now. That’s the way it should be. Once the game is complete with code perfection (no flaws or poor design), then the true Graphics will be swapped in. Perfect code, Sharp Graphics….perfect game! Although you can’t please everyone when making a game, that’s impossible. You can however, try not to displease them with BS broken AI logic, like NBA2K11’s and EA’s John Madden.

If I created “typos” forgive me; the mature eyes are not as good.
