Windows 7 Slate Tackles The iPad

If the iPad has done one thing, it’s opened up a new market. And competitors are filling that field.

Here is a recent demo of a Windows 7 Hanvon slate going head to head against the iPad.

The iPad is going to need some true competitors soon before it gains a true footing and dominates the field for years to come. Hanvon looks able to keep up with the iPad in many areas and even offer things that the iPad does not such as a camera, USB slot and a touchpad to enable mouse usage. Though it does still run Internet Explorer and doesn’t look as smooth or user friendly in some areas.

What do you think? Is the fact that it’s Windows (or Apple) enough to attract you or turn you away? Do the features interest you or do you think they’re superfluous and will make it fiddly compared to Apple’s minimalistic approach?
